The acute, systemic effects of aerobic exercise in recently concussed adolescent student-athletes: preliminary findings

This randomized controlled trial evaluated the effects of light-to-moderate aerobic exercise (i.e., walking on a treadmill) on healthy and recently concussed student-athletes. Results from the study suggest that shortly after completing the exercise session, concussed participants reported generally less sensitivity to vestibular testing and a lower number and less severe symptoms. Therefore, early in the recovery process (i.e., ≤7 days), concussed patients may experience benefit from light-to-moderate aerobic exercise.
