Evaluating Measures of Clinical Meaningfulness for Patient-Reported Outcome Measures in Total Joint Arthroplasty: A Systematic Review

This systematic review evaluated how clinically meaningful improvement thresholds (MCID, SCB, and PASS) are determined for HOOS-JR and KOOS-JR scores following total joint arthroplasty. The authors found substantial variability in these thresholds across studies due to differences in calculation methods, making comparisons between studies difficult. The findings emphasize the need for standardized approaches to improve interpretation of patient-reported outcomes after hip and knee arthroplasty.
