Resiliency is a Predictor of Clinical Outcomes in a Chronic Pain Cohort

This prospective observational study examined whether psychological factors, particularly resiliency, could predict clinical outcomes and the need for additional treatment among patients with chronic pain. The authors found that higher resiliency scores were associated with a lower likelihood of requiring further pain management interventions, while prior opioid use predicted greater changes in pain outcomes. These findings suggest that resiliency is an important factor influencing chronic pain management and may provide additional clinical value when assessing and treating patients with chronic pain.
