Dr. Andrew Dec is a Board-Certified Anesthesiologist and Pain Management Physician. He often treats patients with chronic pain, and believes each patient deserves a unique, customized approach to their pain management. Pain symptoms can often be overlooked, and there is a special population of patients who need comprehensive care. It brings Dr. Dec joy to be able to provide this to his patients.
A fellowship-trained physician in interventional pain medicine, Dr. Dec originally hails from Michigan. He grew up playing many sports, from baseball to track & field and basketball. Dr. Dec was motivated to go into pain management because he loved the power to be able to heal others—the power to take care of people. He completed his fellowship at the Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, later becoming the medical director of the Schneck Pain Center in Seymour, Indiana. While there, he also taught as a professor at the Marian College of Osteopathic Medicine in Indianapolis.
In addition to Dr. Dec’s medical practice, he also takes time to give back, working with Operation Smile in the Philippines, restoring smiles for children with cleft lip and facial deformities. Dr. Dec has numerous published research articles, and is a member of the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, the American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine, and the American Society of Anesthesiologists.
Dr. Dec and his wife Ashley are proud to call Panama City home. They enjoy life on the Emerald Coast with their two children and Kali, their Portuguese water dog.
