PA Orthopedic Surgery Fellowship
Our Orthopedic Physician Assistant Fellowship program is fourteen months long and encompasses the all of TOC's orthopedic services. Our program is designed for new and recent graduates that are looking for structured training and mentorship so the fellows can complete the program as highly-skilled, proficient, orthopedic practitioners ready to work in any orthopedic setting.

Fellowship Curriculum
Our 14-month PA Fellowship program includes training in the emergency room, operating room, hospital rounds, individual specialty clinics, and sports sidelines. Each Fellow will participate in a diversified training regimen of orthopedic specialty rotations to include:

What is the governing accreditation body for your PA Fellowship program?
- While postgraduate physician assistant programs do not require accreditation, we are seeking accreditation through the Association of Postgraduate Physician Assistant Programs (APPAP).
- Our fellowship APPA CME credits are part of the program and has been approved for 65 AAPA Category CME credits from the AAPA Review Panel, and are compliant with AAPA CME criteria. Approval is valid from 8/1/2024 to 12/31/2033.
What are the application cycles for the PA Fellowship?
Applications are always accepted, but the review process starts once the next application window opens.
- Fall Cohort:
- Application window = February 1 to April 1
- Fellowship start date = First week in August.
- Spring Cohort:
- Application window = August 1 to October 1
- Fellowship start date = First week in March.

- TOC is located in the beautiful city of Tallahassee, Florida. Home to both FSU and FAMU — just minutes away from the Gulf of Mexico and the rolling red hills of South Georgia.
What is the length of the PA Fellowship program?
- The TOC PA Orthopedic Surgery fellowship is a 14-month training program focused on the intensive development of the Physician Assistant fellow. Utilizing a multi-faceted team approach, each Fellow will become immersed in the global experiences of orthopedics.
What are the benefits of choosing a PA Fellowship program?
- Each Fellow will participate in a full continuum of patient care. Obtaining first-hand experience in outpatient clinical settings, emergency department evaluation and management of orthopedic injuries, first assisting in the operating room, performing inpatient rounds and management of post-operative patients, mastering injection techniques, and sports medicine athletic team coverage.
