OBSERVING/SHADOWING
Thank you for your interest in observing at Tallahassee Orthopedic Clinic! Due to the high volume of requests, we cannot guarantee the placement of all students or professionals interested in observing at TOC, but we will try our best to accommodate.
- Applicants interested in observing at TOC are responsible for securing their own allied health care provider, nursing, or physician sponsor with whom they intend to shadow. TOC will not provide sponsors for shadowing experiences, nor will we provide contact information for our staff.
- Once a sponsor has been secured, the Observer Application packet (see the link below) should be filled out completely (including the TOC sponsor signature) and submitted via email in a single document. Incomplete applications (including missing signatures or flu documentation) will not be processed.
- Applications must be received at least 20 business days prior to the requested start date for observation. During high-volume application periods, additional time may be required. Please provide exact or anticipated specific start dates.
- Students interested in observing surgical experiences should contact the individual surgical facility (TMH, CRMC, TOSC, etc.) directly for approval because TOC does not oversee those facilities.

If the applicant is requesting observation hours with any of our clinical staff (MD/DO, PA, etc.), please email the completed application to Undergrad@TEAMTOC.com.
If the applicant is requesting observation hours with any of our physical therapy or occupational therapy staff (PT, OT, etc.), please email the completed application to Jason.DeGroff@TEAMTOC.com.
If the applicant is requesting observation hours with any of our radiological technologist staff, please email the completed application to Shelby.Morris@TEAMTOC.com.
Note: Completion of the application does not guarantee placement at TOC.
INTERNSHIP/PRACTICUM/CLERKSHIP
TOC has limited availability to place students and residents for internships/practicum/clerkships. For those interested in pursuing such an experience with TOC should complete the application packet below and review the requirements for a formal clinical rotation.
- Students/residents must receive academic credit through their college/university/institution of record to be considered for an internship/practicum/clerkship experience.
- An affiliation agreement must be executed between the college/university/institution and TOC before the clinical experience can occur. Proof of general liability and professional liability insurance must accompany the affiliation agreement. Please confirm with your clinical education coordinator if an affiliation agreement has already been executed.
- Once the affiliation agreement has been executed, the Intern Application packet (see the link below) should be filled out completely and submitted via email in a single document. Incomplete applications (e.g., including missing information or signatures) will not be processed. Please provide exact or anticipated specific start dates and if there is a preferred preceptor, please list that.
- Applications must be received at least 20 business days prior to the requested start date. During high-volume application periods, additional time may be required.
- Those interested in assisting with surgical experiences should have your program’s clinical education coordinator contact the individual surgical facility (TMH, HCA Capital, TOSC, etc.) directly for approval because those facilities are independent of TOC and will require they are contracts in place.
